“Edward Scissorhands” on Stage at Cazenovia College
Location:

Student Production was adapted from the film.

The Working Title Players, (a.k.a. The Cazenovia College Drama Club) will present a staged version of Tim Burton’s film, “Edward Scissorhands,” at the Catherine Cummings Theatre, Lincklaen St., in Cazenovia, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25, 26 and 27, curtain time 8 p.m.  General admission is $4.

The screenplay, written by Tim Burton and Caroline Thompson, tells the story of Edward, the gentle creation of an eccentric inventor, who finds himself stranded in Suburbia. The movie version starred Johnny Depp as Edward and Winona Ryder as his object of affection, Kim.

Roxana Spano, visiting assistant professor, and adviser of the Working Title Players, says, “Fans of the Edward Scissorhands movie will love this play, not only because it captures the quirkiness of the original, but because the enthusiasm of the students who have adapted their favorite movie to the stage is infectious. Their camaraderie, creativity and their commitment are everything a drama club advisor could hope for.”
